New door handles on the cheap!

Last year we moved.  It was a really good move for us.  Moving is always kind of a funny thing. It's like moving into someone else's house. You really got to take a season and make it your own.

The interior of our new place isn't necessarily my style.  The light fixtures for one.  blah.  Gag me.  They look like lava lamps on the ceiling  Don't even get me started on the brass fixtures....So one of the first things I did when I moved here, was I took off all the door knobs and spray painted them.

I like the look of rubbed oil bronze from Rustoleum.  This spray paint is THE BEST... so here's the before and afters of my little DIY project.    Do not be fooled, this was not a one afternoon project. It took a lot of of elbow grease to get everything off, spray painted and back on to where to doors didn't creek or were actually hung right.  I recommend two cans of spray paint, and an extra set of hands.

Granted, they aren't all perfect and I did touch them up with a sharpie too... I did however do the math and for the 10 doors I had to do, the cost for just going out and getting new fixtures, would've been $400. I spent a mere 14 on spray paint. woo!

Cheers,

jess
